It features natural nut fiber buttons, triple-stitch construction for durability, and elbow patches, ensuring it’s built for long-term wear. Samurai developed this fabric by analyzing military fabrics from over half a century ago, originally designed for tropical regions, and combining that research with Japan’s unique weaving technology. The result is a fabric similar to a Panama weave, with slub yarn and a mesh-like texture that provides exceptional breathability and comfort in warmer weather. The fabric’s gauge was meticulously manipulated at Samurai’s Banshu factory, the only mill in Japan with the century-old technology capable of producing this enhanced version of an already proven textile.

…form in original high-density cotton moleskin. The result is a CPO shirt that can be worn comfortably across seasons and washed easily more often. The fabric is a Boncoura original: densely woven, then brushed to create a soft, low-pile surface. Unlike typical moleskin, this version offers a uniquely refined texture, with a matte finish that feels both solid and luxurious. Carefully sewn with wrap-around chainstitching which builds soft puckering and subtle tension along the seams. The shirt is finished with original Boncoura anchor buttons, specially made from custom molds using traditional techniques. Each one is engraved on the reverse with the BONCOURA logo. This is a CPO shirt elevated to its highest form.
