This Samurai S3100VX jean is a relaxed straight fit from the World War II era, made of their famed 17oz Zero+…

…denim. The silhouette is a new one based on their WWII model S3000VX, with a slightly longer rise and a slightly wider top block. The buttons are newly created to mimic the color of “shakudo” metal with a well-worn black finish, which has been used for weapons and ornaments in Japan since ancient times. As the buttons age over time the luster settles and a beautiful patina starts to appear, and the pocket bags are made of 8 oz. slub yarn denim which is heavier duty compared to conventional pocket bag materials. …which creates a pale, worn in color tone. The sashiko threads run vertically and horizontally in different directions and gauges, designed to express the uniqueness of hand sewing. They are also crafted to shrink when washed, which creates a complex, uneven texture on the fabric’s surface. …the classic Type III jacket made of a true black Shinki horsehide. This comes in as a classic fit with just a hair of length added to the body. Fine Creek makes some of the most beautiful horsehide jackets we’ve seen. Using a vegetable tanned Japanese horsehide, which ages in a fairly fast manner, they cut and sew these jackets in their own studio in Tokyo. The quality of stitching is as good as it gets for a leather jacket, and we’ve not seen many jackets age as well as these do. Depending on the panel they’ll use a different type of stitch thread and thread count to achieve puckering in certain areas for added character. Now at all stores in limited numbers.

…jacquard woven denim, an original fabric developed by Studio D’Artisan. It features indigo-dyed warp yarns and kakishibu (persimmon)-dyed weft yarns, creating a distinctive reddish denim through the overlap of these colors. The sashiko stitching on the warp threads is designed to shrink and create a three-dimensional, uneven texture after washing. The jacket is finished with original SDA buttons, stamped copper rivets, and a special Kakishibu Sashiko leather patch. Now at all stores!
