…natural indigo, so it’s no surprise that their new SD-808 jean is made of such a beautiful fabric. This new denim is slightly hairy when new, has a light slub character due to the medium staple cotton used, and has been rope-dyed meaning it will age in a slightly more dramatic way compared to many other natural indigo dyed denim fabrics. These come in a straight tapered fit with a medium rise and the jean is finished with herringbone twill pocket bags.

…made of a newly developed 13oz overdyed foil denim. This fabric starts out as an 13oz denim which has a Dark Dust “foil” heat pressed into it, you can still see a bit of the denim weave pattern through the foil and over time the foil will come off to reveal the denim base.

…This denim is an Iron Heart developed 17oz selvedge denim made of 100% organic cotton which has been dyed using natural indigo. The natural indigo gives these a unique shade which can only be achieved by rope dying the warp yarns in a natural indigo bath. The process of natural indigo dying is costly and takes more time than synthetic indigo dying, that coupled with the fact that these are made of a medium staple organic cotton makes these a great buy for the price. …denim jacket by Boncoura. On vintage type II jackets, underarm gussets were typically found only on larger sizes. Inspired by this historical detail, Boncoura has incorporated it into all sizes of this jacket.

The fabric is made from Boncoura’s proprietary “Ikemen” denim, the same as used in the 66 and XX jean models. The underside of the pocket flaps are lined with their original chambray fabric, allowing for a beautifully aged patina over time.

All components, including Boncoura’s original hardware, have been carefully crafted to ensure long-lasting wear. Like the denim itself, these metal parts will develop a unique patina with use. Stitching is done with cotton thread, following traditional construction methods. The thread thickness varies from gauge 8 to 30, drawing inspiration from period-authentic stitch-work. A super high attention to detail from Boncoura here on these jackets, along with everything else they make.

This robust construction ensures a unique patina and character that will develop beautifully over time.

For this black denim Boncoura has applied a rope-dyeing technique, setting it apart from conventional vintage black denim, which is typically dyed to the core. With traditional “piece-dyed” black denim, fading is minimal, but BONCOURA’s approach maintains a white core, allowing for a fading process similar to classic indigo denim. Over time, the fabric reveals a striking contrast, creating a distinct aged effect. Additionally, Boncoura’s exclusive dye formulation gives the fabric a rich, deep black with a nuanced depth that evolves beautifully with wear.

Deep hand pockets, a slightly shallower coin pocket, and asymmetrical side pockets are carefully designed for both functionality and style. The front features Boncoura’s original snap button and zipper, while the right-side back pocket is finished with the Boncoura name tag.
