Founded in 1998 by Tohru Nogami in Osaka, Japan, Samurai jeans are instantly recognizable by the flash of silver thread woven into the selvage—a callback to the steely glint of samurai swords of yore. Samurai produces several silhouettes in different styles of denim, some heavily slubbed and dyed with natural indigo.
